The genre of Resident Evil 4 seems to be a controversial subject. I say it is an action game whereas a lot of people think it is a survival horror. There are some people who either haven’t made their mind up or don’t care and will keep saying “well it’s really only each person’s opinion” and they are right, it is only an opinion. It’s just like saying 2+2 = 5 is just an opinion. If I said the answer is 4 you could tell me that it was only my opinion as well which is right, but only one of those opinions would be the right one (no prizes for guessing which).
Back in the care free gaming days of the Nintendo GameCube, when I heard the news that Resident Evil 4 was coming out I told my friend he should get it, his response was “those Resident Evil games are too slow for me” but then I showed him some footage of Leon diving through a top floor window at the players command and then roundhouse kicking a zombie (or at least what we assumed was a zombie) and needless to say after seeing that we both bought the game and we both loved playing it (didn’t everyone?). I was glad my friend had finally come round and for once liked a Resident Evil game……or did he? Was it even a Resident Evil game?
It was called Resident Evil 4, of that much I am certain, but other than the name what else did it have in common with the series? Check out the video to find out why my friend had a sudden change of heart but didn’t like the earlier Resident Evil games.
